We are looking for outgoing and motivated Retail Assistants that want to provide great customer service to visitors to the Fringe so they can have the best Fringe experience possible. The Fringe shop during August is an exceptionally busy hub selling merchandise and also providing information to Fringe visitors and often it’s the first-place visitors to the Fringe come.

  • Media Assistant

    We are recruiting three Media Assistants who will report to the Media Officer. Leading up to and during the Fringe, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society provides a media centre for journalists and participants. The Fringe is an open access festival, and the Fringe Society is an impartial organisation, therefore the Media Office assists journalists to find what they are looking for without ever recommending or making value judgements about specific shows. The Media Office accredits journalists attending the Fringe and provides a media ticketing service for Fringe shows.

  • Street Events Assistant Manager

    We are seeking to appoint a proactive and well-organised individual to the role of Assistant Event Manager, playing an integral role in coordinating the Street Events.

    During the Fringe, the Street Events team manages vibrant street performance areas in the heart of the city: These spaces become the focus of the carnival atmosphere that takes over Edinburgh in August, with thousands of locals and tourists mingling to see the spectacular acts that travel from all over the world to entertain the crowds.

    Reporting to the Street Events Manager, the Assistant Event Manager will take a lead on planning and organising the event production schedule, liaising with third parties including the Council, security contractors and our preferred fabrication partners. They will also manage and provide on the ground support to a team of coordinators and stewards across sites.

    The Street Events team consists of the Street Events Manager, Assistant Manager, Administrator, a small team of coordinators and a team of stewards, along with a contracted security and First Aid team. The management team works closely with City of Edinburgh Council, Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service to manage the event safely.

  • Arts Industry Assistant

    Thousands of industry professionals from across the arts and screen sectors engage with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to discover shows, book work and network with peers from across the globe at the world’s largest arts marketplace. The Fringe Society Arts Industry Office operates to support industry professionals during August, helping them discover talent, see work and connect with colleagues.

    We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to act as our Arts Industry Assistants, reporting to the Arts Industry Officer and Arts Industry Supervisors.

    The Arts Industry Assistants share responsibility for operating and supporting delivery of the services provided by the office. These are demanding positions that involve working in a busy office and require the confidence, humour, patience and diplomacy to deal with the large and varied number of arts industry professionals using the service during the festival.
